Tramadol vs. pethidine to control perioperative shivering in cesarean section under spinal anesthesia: a double-blind study

نویسندگان

چکیده

Background & objective: Perioperative shivering after spinal anesthesia for cesarean section is a common and unpleasant complication. Currently pethidine being used but the search continues to look other agents with faster action fewer side effects. Tramadol potential anti-shivering drug modulation of central thermoregulation.
We compared efficacy tramadol versus in treatment perioperative patients undergoing under anesthesia.
Methodology: After institutional ethical review committee approval, 42 anesthesia, who experienced shivering, were randomized into two groups, Group T (n = 21) received 1 mg/kg P 0.5 pethidine. The outcome measures included time taken cessation medication, recurrence incidence effects.
Results: parturients mean age 30.2 ± 5.2 y body mass index (BMI) 29.9 4.9 kg/m2 recruited comparable data between groups. Median from administration until group was than (7 min vs 13 min, 0.049). However, there no significant difference terms number recurrences (P 0.606) nausea 0.19) groups.
Conclusion: Intravenous has alleviation intravenous shivering.

Analgesic Efficacy of Intravenous Lidocaine Infusion in Cesarean Section under Spinal Anesthesia: A Prospective Randomized Double-Blind Study

Background & Objective: Nowadays, conventional analgesic agents that are usually used for pain killing after cesarean sections do not provide enough analgesia with infrequent serious side effects. Lidocaine has been suggested as an adjuvant analgesic agent for postoperative pain relief. We designed this randomized double-blind, placebo-controlled study to evaluate the analgesic efficacy of intr...

Comparison of preemptive effect of intravenous ketorolac versus meperidine on postoperative shivering and pain in patients undergoing cesarean section under spinal anesthesia: A prospective, randomized, double-blind study

Background: Pain and shivering are two unpleasant problems in postoperative period. Various techniques are used to alleviate the postoperative shivering and pain.  We compared the preemptive prescription of a single dose of intravenous meperidine and ketorolac on postoperative pain and shivering in patients undergoing cesarean section with spinal anesthesia. Methods: One hundred and ...

Comparing Different Epinephrine Concentrations for Spinal Anesthesia in Cesarean Section: A Double-Blind Randomized Clinical Trial

Background: Although various anesthetic techniques can be used in different kinds of surgeries, spinal anesthesia has received considerable attention for the lower abdomen and lower extremities surgeries and cesarean section. This study aimed at comparing the effect of adding epinephrine 1:1000 and 1:10000 to lidocaine and fentanyl in spinal anesthesia on the prolongation of paralysis, analgesi...

INCIDENCE OF SHIVERING DURING CESAREAN SECTION IN PATIENTS UNDER SPINAL ANESTHESIA WITH OR WITHOUT FENTANYL

Background & Aims: Postoperative shivering is one of the common complications of surgery in the recovery room, with an incidence rate of about 50-60% in various reports. Postoperative chills usually result in unwanted hypothermia during operation. Materials & Methods: In this study, patients were divided randomly (after selecting one of 32 card containing coatings) into intervention group (n=4...

Effect of low dose of intrathecal pethidine on the incidence and intensity of shivering during cesarean section under spinal anesthesia: a randomized, placebo-controlled, double-blind clinical trial

INTRODUCTION Shivering is among the unpleasant and potentially harmful side effects of spinal anesthesia. The aim of this randomized double-blind clinical trial was to compare the antishivering effect of two different doses of intrathecal pethidine on the incidence and intensity of shivering and other side effects in patients who underwent cesarean section. METHODS In this study, 150 parturie...
